Welcome to the Historic Crown Inn…

Recently awarded 'AA Britian's Best Pub Guide 2012-2015' The Crown Inn is set in the pretty village of Shorwell in picturesque West Wight, with thatched cottages, a small shop, three manor houses, and the church. In summer Arrum Lillies decorate the garden stream and a Wendy House, slide and swings to keep youngsters amused. The building dates in parts from the 17th century and different floor levels attest to many alterations. Log fires, antique furniture, and a friendly female ghost who disapproves of card playing complete the picture of this traditional family run-pub. We are pleased to announce we were awarded 'Cask Marque Accrediation' for the quality of our 6 real ale beers which include an island brew. You will also find us in 'CAMRA'S Good Beer Guide. All our food is homemade and we offer a wide selection within our menu for all tastes, including a vegetarian section, and consists of many favourites based on locally sourced lamb and beef, game in winter and fish in summer – we're dog-friendly too! Hope to see you soon.

New! – Live Music

Every Saturday Evening and Every Sunday Lunchtime we will be hosting a fantastic selection of Local Live Musicians. The Isle of Wight really is a hotbed of talent and their performances are always a popular addition. For further details on who we have playing over the coming weeks please see our Facebook page.
